January update for Kindergarten – 8th Grade
¡Feliz Año Nuevo! 2016 (Happy New Year 2016!) I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break. I am so happy and blessed to be teaching at HRS for my first year with your children. Gracias, gracias y mil gracias!
What will the Kindergarteners learn this month in Spanish?
We will be learning new vocabulary for winter and a learn a new song/video called Pingüino. They will learn the vocabulary words from the song and make a penguin. Stay tune when the pingüinos come home your children singing Pingüino.
What will the First Graders learn this month in Spanish?
We will be learning new vocabulary words for winter and what to wear for the season. New vocabulary words: Cuando hace frio llevo: (When it is cold I wear 🙂 bufanda, sueter chaqueta, gorro, y guantes. We will also create a book of pingüino and its parts and color. Learn act and sing the songs related to a pinguin.
What are the Second Graders learning this month in Spanish?
This month the second Graders will continue reviewing the months of the year and what to wear when it is cold in the winter (invierno) and what activities you can do when it is cold. New vocabulary learned: bola de nieve, copos de nieve, chocolate caliente, hombre de nieve, botas, sueter, chaqueta, hace frio, mitones, bufanda pantalones. They will also create a book of the four seasons and will learn a song on Rockalingua.com (las cuatro estaciones).
What will the Third Graders learn this month in Spanish?
This month the third Graders will be reviewing vocabulary related to the weather with the sentence Cuando hace frio llevo… (When it‛s cold I wear…) They will create a little person wearing clothing related to the weather. They will decorate the Spanish bulletin board in the hallway with five different Spanish words with their little person. We will also continue working with winter activities creating a book. Stay tuned for those books!
What will the Fourth Graders learn this month in Spanish?
This month the fourth graders will have a fun activity creating a book of the four seasons and also learning a song from Rockalingua Las cuatro estaciones.
What will the Fifth and Sixth Graders learn this month in Spanish?
The Fifth and sixth Graders will be reviewing the month of the year, weather, seasons and clothing. Therefore their task is to create a video. Stay tuned for these videos created by your children this month.
What are the Seventh and Eighth Graders learning in Spanish this month?
This month the seventh and eighth graders will be creating a book of a Spanish speaking country. The objective of creating these books with short simple sentences is so the seventh and eight graders can collaborate with the younger classes and read them their fun books. We are also continuing with unit 2 ¡Aventura!
